A decade after opening her first shop on East 9th Street’s ‘Indie Designer Row’, a new HUMINSKA boutique has made its début in a small and elegant French tiled salon at 248 Mott Street, in the heart of NoLIta, where a golden staircase spirals down to the designer’s den of creativity.
The 'jewel box of space’, as Mary Billard calls it, houses the classic HUMINSKA dress collection, inspired by grand dames and vintage fabrics. Traces of her past incarnation as a milliner punctuate this aesthetic with a small number of hats, fashioned by hand in the basement workshop.
These delightful one-of-a-kind confections in feathers, silk and velvet perfectly complement the flirty, sexy, curvy dress line that bears her name, gorgeous limited edition creations that glide with style and ease over any woman’s natural lines, from budding beauty to mature sophisticate. Which is precisely why a loyal following returns, season after season, to happily snap up another dress or two, or ten.
Cut and sewn with tender loving care right here in New York City, HUMINSKA dresses are as versatile as the women who wear them. They deserve their seat in the limo, with glamour to spare anywhere, from the corner taco joint, to a night at the opera. Women simply adore what they do, and men do too.
